Overview
The AC8002 is an additional PC access control board designed for the AC8001/2 computer-based access control system. It can also function as a standalone two-door control system if you have a compatible 12v DC power supply.
Engineered for LAN/WAN environments, the AC8002 is compatible with Windows operating systems from XP up to Windows 11, including Windows Server editions. This allows for seamless operation on a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
As a single-door control system, the AC8002 enables you to effectively monitor and manage door access and exits, making it an ideal solution for clubs, offices, schools, gyms, and other facilities. Its simple, expandable design supports future growth.

Frequently Asked Questions
What operating system does the software use? The software is exclusively Windows-based, compatible with versions from XP to Windows 11, including Windows Server. Setup is typically completed within 15 minutes. A LAN connection via a router is the most common configuration, but WAN access (via internet connection and router port forwarding) and Cloud installation are also supported.
Can the software use SQL? Yes. While it defaults to a Microsoft Database, migrating to SQL is straightforward. Please refer to page 63 of the AC8000 Setup Guide for instructions.
Is the software an extra cost or subscription? No. The software is included with the system at no extra charge, and there are no annual subscription fees.
Does the system monitor both entry and exit? Yes, it can monitor both entry and exit, provided a card reader is installed on both sides of the door.
Can I create a multi-door system? Absolutely. You can expand the system by adding extra control cards and readers to your order. Simply connect the additional controllers to your router or hub and register them in the software.
How many control systems can I add? There is no limit to the number of control systems you can integrate.
Can I use a card reader instead of an exit button? Yes, you can use a card reader, an exit button, or both as an exit device.
Is the system compatible with fingerprint readers? Yes, it is. The setup is very simple. Please email us for instructions on how to integrate a fingerprint reader.
What is the maximum cable distance for card readers? Card readers should be positioned no more than 80-90 meters from the control board.
What type of cable is required? We recommend using 6-core or 8-core shielded twisted-pair alarm cable. For best results, use a high-quality cable like Belden 9536. Do not use CAT5/6 cable for card readers, as this will significantly reduce the operational distance and may cause interference.
Will my existing cards or key fobs work with this system? It is not possible to guarantee compatibility due to the variety of card formats. Our readers are Wiegand 125kHz EM-RFID and will not work with Mifare cards. However, if you use your own Mifare readers, the software will recognise them and allow you to use your existing Mifare cards/fobs.
Where do the control cards fit? The cards are supplied with self-adhesive pads for easy installation inside the power supply unit.
Does the PC need to be on all the time? What happens if the power fails? No, the PC does not need to be running continuously. The control card can store up to 100,000 offline transactions. To prevent data loss, it is important to download these transactions to your computer before the storage limit is reached, at which point the system will begin overwriting the oldest data.
Can I fit a battery in the power supply cabinet? Yes, a backup battery can be fitted. The available space will depend on the number of control cards installed in the power supply cabinet.
