Do I require any additional items?If replacing an existing unit, then you do not need any other item. If you're adding an extra door panel to an existing system then please ensure it has the larger PS5 power supply installed which can found in the Accessories section here
AccessoriesWhat exactly is this unit?The DBC4A1 is a universal 4 way distributor unit that will allow you to connect a maximum of 4 x door panels to the video entry system, it can also be used to connect 4 x video monitors as well if you are using a typical "Star Connection" for the cabling
For example, If each video monitor cable has been installed to a central point (Star Connection) then you will need a DBC4A1 4 way distributor for a maximum of 4 x video monitors. If the video monitor cables are "looped" from one to the other then you will not require a DBC4A1 4 way distributor
If you have additional door panels then you will need a DBC4A1 4 way distributor and the larger PS5 power supply
Rule of thumb is: 1 x DBC4A1 for a maximum of 4 x door panels and 1 x DBC4A1 for every 4 x video monitors (If the video monitors are cabled in the Star Topology format)
