Overview
The Access Control Kit 6 is a comprehensive key fob entry system designed for standard access control needs at home, in the office, or any other location requiring a reliable security solution. This kit includes a fail-secure lock release, an exit button, a power supply, and a key fob door reader.
Important Note on Lock Types: The included fail-secure lock release requires power to unlock. It is not recommended for connection to a fire alarm system, as continuous power during an emergency can cause irreparable damage to the lock's coil. For fire alarm integration, a "fail-open" (or fail-safe) lock release and a green emergency break-glass unit are required. These are available as optional extras when ordering. Both lock release types are compatible with standard Yale-style rim or mortice latches but are not suitable for deadlock mechanisms.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is the lock release suitable for external use? No, not if it will be directly exposed to rain. The lock connections must be shielded from the elements to prevent weather damage.
Can I use the SR2-X card reader outside? Yes, it is IP66 rated, meaning it is fully protected against dust and powerful jets of water.
Does the SR2-X reader work with standard RFID or Mifare cards? Yes, it is compatible with both Wiegand RFID (125kHz) and Mifare Classic (13.56MHz) cards and fobs.
How are new cards or fobs programmed? Programming is simple using the included Master Add/Delete card. The supplied remote control is ideal for deleting lost or missing fobs by entering their unique ID number. We recommend noting the 10-digit Unique ID (UID) printed on each card/fob.
What if I lose the Master Add/Delete card? You can easily create a new one by resetting the reader. This process will not delete any existing user cards or fobs. The reset procedure is detailed in the online manual.
Can I use two card readers, one for entry and one for exit? Yes. You can purchase an additional SR2-X reader. You can also program the same card to operate both readers and sync user data across up to 9 units.
Can this system operate an automatic gate? Yes. Please refer to the downloadable wiring diagrams for instructions.
What kind of cable do I need? Standard 3-pair or 4-pair alarm cable is suitable and can be purchased from any local electrical or DIY store.
