The 600-S-DS is a slimline, surface-mounted magnetic lock designed for secure, internal door applications. Its key feature is Door Status (DS) monitoring, which uses voltage-free contacts within the magnet to signal whether the door is open or closed, even without power. These Normally Closed (N/C) contacts can be wired to a sounder, buzzer, alarm system, or light to confirm the door's status when the magnet and armature plate are separated.

The magnet is running warm, almost hot. "Power-to-lock" devices like magnetic locks require constant power and can naturally run warm. However, excessive heat is usually caused by:
- Voltage Mismatch: Using a 24V DC power supply for a magnet set to 12V DC.
- Insufficient Amperage: The power supply cannot provide enough current.
- Voltage Drop: Using an inadequate wire gauge over a long cable run, causing insufficient current to reach the magnet.
The armature plate is vibrating. This is typically caused by an under-rated or faulty power supply, or by powering a 24V DC magnet with a 12V DC supply.
The magnet does not lock, or the door opens easily. The most common cause is poor alignment between the armature plate and the magnet. It can also result from a faulty/under-rated power supply or a voltage mismatch (e.g., a 24V DC magnet on a 12V DC supply).
Important: This magnetic lock operates on either 12V DC or 24V DC. Always verify the wiring connections and jumper settings are correct for your chosen power supply before turning on the power. Failure to do so can cause the lock to overheat, fail to secure properly, and eventually damage the system.
Maintenance: Periodically clean the surfaces of both the magnet and the armature plate with a light oil to ensure optimal performance.
