Overview
600-S-LED-DS - Slimline Mini Magnetic Lock (12/24V DC)
Secure your entryways with the 600-S-LED-DS, a slimline surface-mount magnetic lock designed for performance and reliability. Offering a robust holding force of 272kg (600lbs), this lock is ideal for internal uPVC, timber, or metal doors.
This model includes advanced monitoring features:
- Lock Status Monitoring: Integrated Hall Effect contacts (N/O & N/C) allow you to verify whether the magnet is locked or unlocked. This can be connected to alarms, sounders, or indicator lights.
- Door Status Monitoring (DS): A separate set of contacts monitors the door's position (open or closed), even when the lock is unpowered.
- LED Indicator: A dual-colour LED provides a clear visual confirmation of the lock's status.
Weight:
- Magnet: 1.253kg
- Armature: 0.597kg

FAQs & Troubleshooting
Q: The magnet feels very warm, almost hot. Is this normal? A: "Power to Lock" devices like magnetic locks will naturally run warm due to the constant power required. However, excessive heat is often caused by:
- Voltage Mismatch: Using a 24V DC power supply for a magnet set to 12V DC.
- Insufficient Amperage: The power supply cannot provide enough current, causing electrical resistance and heat.
- Voltage Drop: Using an inadequate wire gauge over a long cable run, which prevents sufficient current from reaching the magnet.
Q: The armature plate is vibrating. A: This is typically caused by an under-rated or faulty power supply, or by powering a 24V DC-configured magnet with a 12V DC supply.
Q: The magnet isn't locking properly, and the door can be pulled open. A: The most common causes are:
- Misalignment: The armature plate is not correctly aligned with the magnet.
- Power Issues: The power supply is faulty, under-rated, or there is a voltage mismatch (e.g., 12V DC supply for a 24V DC setting).
Technical Tips & Brackets
Important: Always verify that the jumper links are correctly set for your chosen power supply (12V DC or 24V DC) before turning on the power. Failure to do so can cause the lock to overheat, fail to engage, and eventually damage the system.
Maintenance: Periodically clean the magnet and armature plate surfaces with a light oil to ensure optimal performance.
