Description & Specifications:
Overview
Product: 12/24V DC Surface-Mount Slimline Double Mini Magnetic Lock (Monitored) Model: 600-D-LED Holding Force: 2 x 272kg Magnet Weight: 2 x 1.253kg Armature Weight: 2 x 0.597kg
This monitored magnetic lock allows you to confirm its status (locked or unlocked) at a glance. Internally, it features voltage-free Hall Effect contacts with both Normally Open (N/O) and Normally Closed (N/C) options. These contacts can be connected to various devices, such as sounders, buzzers, alarm systems, or lights, triggering them when the magnet and armature plate are separated.
The 600-D-LED model also includes a dual red/green LED for clear visual indication of its open or closed status. It is suitable for internal use and can be surface- or side-mounted on uPVC, timber, or metal doors.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why is the magnet running warm or hot? "Power to Lock" devices like magnetic locks require constant power and can naturally run warm. However, excessive heat is often caused by:
- Voltage Mismatch: Using a 24V DC power supply for a magnet set to 12V DC operation.
- Insufficient Amperage: The power supply is not providing enough current, causing electrical resistance and heat.
- Voltage Drop: A long cable run with an inadequate wire gauge can prevent sufficient current from reaching the magnet.
Why is the armature plate vibrating? This is typically due to a faulty or underrated power supply, or a voltage mismatch where a 12V DC power supply is used for a magnet set to 24V DC.
Why won't the magnet lock properly? The most common reasons are:
- Misalignment: The armature plate is not correctly aligned with the magnetic lock.
- Power Issues: The power supply is faulty, underrated, or there is a voltage mismatch (e.g., 12V DC supply for a 24V DC magnet).
Technical Tips
- Verify Voltage Settings: Before powering on, always double-check that the wiring connections match your selected 12V DC or 24V DC power supply. Failure to do so can cause the lock to overheat or fail, potentially damaging the system.
- Regular Maintenance: Periodically clean the surfaces of both the magnet and the armature plate with a light oil to ensure optimal performance.
