GL1200 Surface Mount External Magnetic Lock (Monitored)
The GL1200 is a robust 12/24V DC surface-mounted magnetic lock featuring a male conduit thread. It offers a powerful holding force of 544kg, ensuring reliable security. Designed for versatility, it includes both side and face mounting holes suitable for uPVC, timber, or metal doors in internal or external settings.
Monitoring Feature: This monitored version allows you to confirm the lock's status (locked or unlocked). It contains a set of voltage-free Hall Effect contacts (Normally Open & Normally Closed) that can be connected to external devices like sounders, buzzers, alarms, or indicator lights to signal when the lock is disengaged. Please note, this model does not have a built-in LED indicator.

Why is the magnet running hot? "Power to Lock" devices like magnetic locks require constant power and can naturally run warm. However, excessive heat is often caused by:
- Incorrect Voltage: Using a 24V DC power supply for a magnet configured for 12V DC operation.
- Insufficient Current: The power supply doesn't provide enough amperage, or there's a significant current drop from a long cable run with an inadequate wire gauge.
Why is the armature plate vibrating? This typically points to an issue with the power supply being faulty or underrated. It can also occur if the magnet is set for 24V DC operation but is connected to a 12V DC power supply.
Why won't the magnet lock properly? The most common reasons are:
- Misalignment: The armature plate is not correctly aligned with the magnet.
- Power Issues: The power supply is faulty, underrated, or providing the incorrect voltage (e.g., 12V DC for a 24V DC setup).
