GS200M Micro Shear Lock
Overview
The GS200M is a self-aligning micro shear lock that includes door monitoring contacts. It's designed for versatile installation—vertically or horizontally—on various door types, including aluminium, steel, timber, and glass. This lock is an ideal solution for inward-opening, outward-opening, double-swing, and sliding doors.
Brackets
We offer two bracket options to suit your installation needs:
- Surface Mount Bracket: For standard installations.
- Glass Housing Cradle: Sold as a pair for use with glass doors.
Please note: For frameless glass doors, the glass housing cradle must be used in conjunction with the surface mount bracket.

FAQs
What are "Door Monitoring Contacts"? The monitoring feature allows you to check the lock's status (locked or unlocked). The shear lock contains a set of voltage-free Hall Effect contacts (Normally Open and Normally Closed). These can be connected to an external device like a sounder, buzzer, or alarm system, which will be triggered when the lock and armature plate are separated.
How do I surface-mount this lock? This lock is designed for flush fitting. If you need to mount it on the surface of a door, please select the "surface mount bracket" option when ordering.
I have a surface mount bracket. What do I need to fit this to a frameless glass door? You will need the glass housing cradle. Please select this option when ordering.
What does the "Both items above" option include? Select this option if you have a frameless glass door with a frameless glass header. This bundle includes both the surface mount bracket and the glass housing cradle.
What glass thickness is compatible with the brackets? For installations with a frameless glass door and header, the glass must be 10mm to 13mm thick. The clearance gap between the door and header should be no more than 6mm.
Tech Tips
- Periodically clean the surfaces of the shear lock and armature plate.
- Do not use lubricants or oil on the shear lock.
