Overview
This Access Control System is a complete key fob access control system designed for standard security needs in homes, offices, and other properties. This kit includes a fail-secure lock release, an exit button, a power supply, and a key fob door reader.
Important Note on Lock Type: This kit features a fail-secure lock release, which requires power to unlock. Therefore, it is not recommended for connection to a fire alarm system, as continuous power during an emergency will cause irreparable damage to the lock coil. For fire alarm integration, a fail-safe (fail-open) lock release and a green emergency break glass unit are required. These are available as optional add-ons when ordering.
Both fail-secure and fail-safe lock releases are compatible with standard Yale-style rim or mortice latches (not included). They are not compatible with deadlock devices.

Q: Can the SR2-X card reader be installed outside? A: Yes. It has an IP66 rating, meaning it is fully protected against dust and powerful water jets.
Q: Does the SR2-X reader work with any standard RFID or Mifare fob? A: It is compatible with standard Wiegand RFID (125KHz) and Mifare Classic (13.56MHz) cards or fobs.
Q: How do I program new cards or fobs? A: Programming is simple using the included Master Add/Delete card. You can also use the remote control, which is ideal for deleting lost fobs. Tip: We recommend recording the 10-digit Unique ID (UID) printed on each card or fob.
Q: What if I lose the Master Add/Delete cards? A: Don't worry. You can reset the reader and create new Master cards using any of your existing fobs. This process will not delete your existing users. The procedure is detailed in the online manual.
Q: How do I delete a lost card or fob? A: You can delete a fob in two ways: by scanning it with the Master Delete card, or by using the remote control to enter its 10-digit UID.
Q: Can I use two SR2-X readers for entry and exit on the same door? A: Yes. Simply purchase an additional SR2-X reader.
Q: Can I program the same fob to work on multiple SR2-X readers? A: Yes. You can link up to nine SR2-X units and upload the user data from the primary reader to all others. Please see page 7 of the downloadable manual for instructions.
Q: Can this system operate an automatic gate? A: Yes. Please refer to the downloadable wiring diagrams for setup instructions.
Q: What kind of cable do I need? A: Standard 3-pair or 4-pair alarm cable is recommended. This is widely available from local electrical or DIY stores.
